David Drebin

De un modo único, el trabajo de David Drebin combina los puntos de vista voyerístico y psicológico. Ofrece una visión dramática de emociones y experiencias que indudablemente muchos de nosotros hemos vivido en algún momento de nuestras vidas.

Después de graduarse de Parsons School of Design en Nueva York en 1996, David Drebin rápidamente comenzó a ser reconocido a nivel internacional como fotógrafo de estrellas de cine, personalidades del deporte y animadores. Posteriormente fue contratado para innumerables campañas de marcas de alto perfil alrededor del mundo.

En 2005 Drebin tuvo su primera exhibición propia en Camera Work en Berlín. Luego, en 2007, realizó su primer libro ilustrado, titulado “Love and other stories”. Este momento cúlmine señaló su transformación de un fotógrafo comercial a uno artístico.

Las fotografías de Drebin son épicas, dramáticas y sobre todo cinematográficas. De una manera única y opulenta, enfrenta femme-fatales contra enormes telones de fondo de ciudades como Hong Kong, New York y Paris. El panorama de las grandes ciudades, debido a su formato, es un tributo al cine. Con sus increíbles rascacielos proveen al espectador una superficie casi infinita para la imaginación.

La tensión y profundidad distintiva de sus imágenes surge de la libre combinación de temas que difieren tanto como el humor y el sexo, la melancolía y el sexo, y la melancolía y el humor.

En Art Miami en 2010, su ahora en venta Central Park, fue vendido por el precio récord de U$S78.000, a través de Contessa Gallery que, desde el 2008, ha exhibido a Drebin en las Ferias de Arte más grandes y junto a las leyendas del arte como Andy Warhol, Chuck Close y Helmut Newton.

Sus libros son exclusivamente realizados por TeNues y distribuidos por el mundo. Frecuentemente son seguidos de exhibiciones en Paris, New York, Miami, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Brussels y muchas otras ciudades del mundo.

Drebin es representado por las galerías de arte más finas del mundo como Camera Work, Galerie de Bellefeuille, Contessa Gallery, Photographers Limited Editions, Young Gallery y Fahey Klein.

A fines del 2015, teNues realizó la última monografía de Drebin, denominada Chasing Paradise. Otras monografías son The Morning After (2010) y Beautiful Disasters (2012).
